Innovative Technologies at the Lincolnshire Show
On June 19th, around 70 guests attended an exclusive brunch on the first day of the Lincolnshire Show, exploring the potential of the UK Food Valley. This event, organised by the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, Team Lincolnshire, and Lincolnshire County Council, highlighted the connections between agriculture and other sectors such as defense, energy, automotive, and aerospace. Two high-tech agricultural businesses in Greater Lincolnshire have secured funding from a new national £7.5 million initiative aimed at stimulating growth in the East of England’s food-tech industries. This period culminated in a celebration event that coincided with the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) STEM Challenge Final, designed to inspire young minds about the possibilities within STEM careers. Apprenticeship Ambassadors: Inspire the Future Workforce
Businesses have a unique opportunity to boost their impact by encouraging apprentices to become Apprenticeship Ambassadors. These young professionals, aged 18 to 26, can share their journeys, participate in career events, and highlight the benefits of apprenticeship programs. Full training and support are provided, making it easier than ever to get involved and make a difference.

Decarbonisation in the UK Food Valley
A recent study by the University of Lincoln School of Engineering, supported by the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, estimates the scale of the decarbonisation challenge for the UK Food Valley. Focusing on heavy road transport and diesel replacement, this study provides critical insights and recommendations for the region’s path toward sustainability.
